Inventory & Billing Software Development

Inventory and billing software that follows your trade's own transactions, with ledgers your accountant trusts, on the phone in the godown and the desktop in the office.

For manufacturers and traders, stock rarely moves in one simple way. Material comes in, goes out to job-work, comes back, gets transferred, sold, returned and adjusted. When all of that lives in spreadsheets and paper ledgers, stock in the books stops matching stock on the shelf, and month-end becomes an audit. Generic billing apps record sales; they don't understand the rest of the trade.

We built Umiya Inventory for the jari textile trade in Gujarat: cloud inventory and billing software on Android, Windows and macOS that replaced spreadsheets and paper ledgers.

What inventory and billing software should cover

  • Every transaction type: purchases, sales, transfers and adjustments as distinct workflows, not one generic entry.
  • Roles: owners, managers and staff each see only what they need.
  • Ledgers and reports: stock and party ledgers with print and export.
  • Accuracy: transactions that never leave the books half-updated.
  • Any device: the same data on the phone and the office desktop.

What We Built for Umiya Inventory

01

Four account types with permissions

Owners, managers and staff work in one system with granular permissions, so each person sees and changes only what their role allows.

  • Role-based access across 4 account types
  • One login on phone and desktop

02

28 transaction workflows

Purchases, sales, transfers, adjustments and the rest of the trade's processes are built in as 28 distinct workflows, so staff pick a transaction type instead of keeping custom sheets.

  • 28 built-in transaction processes
  • Five calculation engines

Reports and ledgers

More than ten report types with print and export give owners and accountants financial visibility without waiting for month-end.

  • 10+ report types
  • Print and export

Android, Windows and macOS in sync

Flutter apps on Android and desktop share one backend, with ACID transactions so financial records never end up half-written, and real-time sync between the floor and the office.

  • Android, Windows and macOS builds
  • ACID transactions
  • Real-time sync across devices

What drives the scope

  • Transaction types: a handful of buy and sell flows vs every process your trade uses, including job-work.
  • Units and attributes: pieces only, or weight, metres, lots, shades and quality.
  • Roles: how many account types and how fine the permissions are.
  • Devices: web only, or phone and desktop apps, and whether they must work offline.
  • Accounting: whether invoices sync to Tally or another accounting tool. See when your accounting tool isn't enough.

How we build it

Umiya runs Flutter clients on Android and desktop against a Node.js API with MongoDB, Redis and RabbitMQ, deployed on Kubernetes on AWS. For smaller businesses we scale that down; the principle stays the same: one source of truth for stock, used from every device. We're based in Surat and can show the software in person.

FAQ

Yes. A common setup keeps Tally for accounts and syncs invoices and parties from the inventory system.

That's the point of building it. Umiya covers 28 transaction types and five calculation engines specific to the jari trade.

Yes. Umiya runs on Android, Windows and macOS with the same data on every device.

Count stock once, load it as the opening balance with parties and rates, then start billing from the new system while accounts stay where they are.
