Clinic Appointment Booking System Development

Patients see real availability and book in under a minute, the doctor manages slots from the calendar they already use, and nobody spends the day on the phone.

When every appointment is booked by phone, patients can't see which slots are free, reception spends hours coordinating schedules, and the clinic is invisible to anyone searching online. A booking system fixes all three: patients see live availability and book themselves, and the clinic gets a website that builds trust before the first visit.

We built this for Aastha Homeopathy, a homeopathy practice in Gujarat: a clinic website with real-time appointment booking and instant confirmation, in about four weeks.

What a clinic booking system should do

  • Live availability: patients pick a date and see the slots that are really free.
  • No double-bookings: two patients can't take the same slot, even at the same moment.
  • Doctor-controlled schedule: availability managed from a calendar the doctor already uses.
  • Instant confirmation: a branded email the moment the booking is made.
  • Trust and search: doctor and treatment pages that rank and reassure.

What We Built for Aastha Homeopathy

01

Online booking in under a minute

Patients pick a date, see live slot availability and book, with no phone calls. Slots are reserved atomically in Redis before Google Calendar commits the booking, so the same slot can't be taken twice.

  • Live slot availability
  • Atomic slot locks against double-bookings

Availability from Google Calendar

The doctor controls availability from Google Calendar, a tool they already use, instead of learning a new admin panel.

  • Google Calendar API sync
  • Admin-controlled availability
03

Instant branded confirmation

A branded confirmation email arrives straight after booking, so the patient has a record and the clinic has fewer no-shows.

  • Confirmation email on booking

Doctor, treatment and trust pages

Pages for the doctor's expertise, diseases and remedies, testimonials and location, with SEO and MedicalOrganization structured data on every page.

  • Doctor and treatment pages
  • Testimonials and clinic location
  • SEO and MedicalOrganization schema

What drives the scope

  • Doctors and branches: one doctor at one clinic vs several doctors across branches.
  • Schedule rules: fixed slots vs different durations per service.
  • Reminders: email only, or SMS and WhatsApp reminders before the visit.
  • Payments: pay at the clinic vs online payment or deposits.
  • Integrations: standalone, or connected to your practice software.

Our guide to clinic booking website features covers what reduces no-shows, and healthcare app privacy covers handling patient data.

How we build it

Aastha runs on Next.js with server-side rendering for fast loads and strong search visibility, Redis for slot locking and the Google Calendar API for availability, deployed on Vercel. Two engineers built it in about four weeks.

FAQ

In Aastha's system, a slot is locked atomically in Redis before the booking is written to Google Calendar, so two patients can't book the same slot.

Not necessarily. Aastha's doctor manages availability in Google Calendar. A custom admin view can be added for clinics that need one.

Yes. Each doctor and branch gets its own schedule, and patients filter by doctor, service or location.

Aastha's website with booking took about four weeks. More doctors, branches, payments or integrations add time.
